What customers say?

“ Old photo. I can't remember clearly but I think those are oyster fritter puffs. I haven't tried the chicken rice though. I heard it's good as well. ”

“ Came here for Hainanese chicken rice. Very tasty. Tonnes of chilli sauce and belacan, which they let you take the amount that you desire. Chicken is soft and delicious. Rice is very flavourful. ****** Selling seafood at night. Tried five dishes tonight. Toufu, manicai and midin are good. Butter sotong and fried oysters are yummy, must order! ”

“ A hidden gem that serves great fresh seafood for a very reasonable price in comparison to Top Spot. Friendly & quick service. No menu but just ask for their recommendations. Their oysters (or chien) is served differently (crumbed) rather than in an omelette. ”

“ Food with good portions, acceptable taste, and reasonable prices. ”

“ A one-dish wonder of a stall, this place serves the Authentic Hainanese Chicken Rice starting 10:30am. The rice is faintly overdone, such that the grains are saturated with ginger flavour, aromatic. The chicken is slightly underdone, so the flesh is smooth, the skin is soft and the specks of fat in between are creamy. A zesty sauce of lime and chilli goes with the dish (from Rm5.00), turning a duet of rice and chicken into an even more exciting trio. Be there early. Very crowded with hungry horse. Selling out too fast by noon. ”

“ I recently decided to give Seafood Padungan Bay a try, hoping to avoid the touristy Topspot Food Court for seafood. Arriving just after they opened at 5:30 PM, I was practically the first customer, which gave me a chance to soak in the atmosphere of this cozy eatery. My initial impression was that it felt more like a coffee shop than a traditional restaurant. The setup is straightforward, situated at the end of a row of shop lots next to the river. While the river breeze was refreshing, the view was partially obstructed, adding a bit of charm rather than detracting from it. The service was warm and welcoming, provided by a Sarawakian Chinese lady who appeared to be the owner. I ordered a whole black pomfret fried with sweet soy sauce, topped with ginger and garlic. The fish was fried to perfection, coated lightly in corn flour, reminiscent of home-cooked meals rather than something you'd find in a more upscale restaurant. The freshness of the fish was evident—no fishy smell here! Next, I tried the kailan stir-fried with garlic. Like the pomfret, this dish was simple and homey, with a focus on the natural flavors rather than heavy seasoning or elaborate presentation. Overall, the cooking style here is uncomplicated, evoking a sense of comfort rather than pretentiousness. The dishes are balanced, not overpowering, which I found refreshing. Plus, the prices are quite affordable, making it accessible for anyone looking for a satisfying seafood meal without breaking the bank. In conclusion, if you're in the mood for home-cooked-style seafood in a casual setting, Seafood Padungan Bay is an excellent choice. I would rate this place a solid 5 out of 5 based on the overall experience. If you enjoyed this review and want to see more, please like and follow my page. Thanks for reading! ”

“ Chicken rice stall in the morning and afternoon. Nice juicy chicken, rice is fragrant, a bit too salty for me though. Generous serving of chili sauce that lights up the whole dish. The best chicken rice in Kuching so far. Very disappointed they are still using polystyrene for takeaway though. ”

“ Steam fish was superb.. So fresh.. Abit dissapointed about the crab, smallest and no meat at all.. Overall still OK.. ”
